JOEY KING AIMING FOR ASA NORTH CHAMPIONSHIP

Silvis, Ill. - Team Full Throttle NASCAR Driver Development racer Joey King is set to make up for some of the track time he lost last season by competing in the 11-race ASA Late Model Series North division in 2008. After only occasionally racing in the Advance Auto Parts Super Truck Series at North Carolina's Hickory Motor Speedway in 2007, the 19-year-old western Illinois native will campaign a brand-new Hamke Late Model in ASA North owned by former NASCAR Nationwide Series owner, Gary Adrian, of Adrian Carriers.

"Gary had been out of racing for a few years and wanted to get back into it," King recently said. "I approached him about a sponsorship opportunity with me in ASA and we got talking about buying me a new Hamke Late Model. I can't thank Gary enough. Because of him we're going to have a great shot at the ASA North championship, and I believe we can do it."

A former Late Model Sportsman winner at Iowa's Hawkeye Downs Speedway, King is excited about the chance to compete on a higher level. "The goal is to win the championship. I know it's going to be tough because the North series has a lot of veterans in it who have been racing Late Models for a long time, as well as a good group of younger drivers like myself. I think if we get the testing we need before the season begins we should be in pretty good shape."

The personable King has more reasons to be excited as he's experienced recent success in attaining sponsorship for his 2008 effort. "We now have some great backing and I want to thank everyone who is involved. Tim Edwards at Gett Industries has been extremely supportive in more ways than one. Dan Ash Trucking, Miller Trucking & Excavating, my parents, Team Full Throttle, and of course Adrian Carriers are all people and businesses who make this entire racing effort possible. I really appreciate the support. Because of them we have a chance to win the ASA North series and that's what we're going to try to do."
